To celebrate November’s designation as National Gratitude Month, Tompkins Bank of Castile, Tompkins Insurance Agencies and Tompkins Financial Advisors are donating $7,500 to several food pantries in our footprint of Western New York, calling the initiative “Banksgiving,” in lieu of hosting our annual Customer Appreciation Apple Day. As with many of our usual traditions, we’ve made adjustments this year in an effort to keep our community safe and we hope that this captures the spirit of our long-held tradition, while also helping the communities we serve during these trying times.
“At Tompkins, supporting the communities we serve is one of our core values and highest priorities. We’ve seen first-hand the pandemic’s impact on individuals and businesses in our own communities,” said John McKenna, president and CEO of Tompkins Bank of Castile. “In honor of our customers and in support of those in our communities, we’ve made additional contributions to support our local area food banks, which have become a lifeline for many during this difficult time.”
The $7,500 will be spread among several organizations throughout Western New York, which include the following organizations:
- Avon Food Pantry
- Castile United Church of Christ Food Pantry
- Churchville-Chili Central School District
- City Church, Batavia
- Geneseo Food Bank
- Greece Ecumenical Food Shelf
- Hope Center of LeRoy Inc
- House of Mercy, Rochester
- Pittsford Food Cupboard
- Response to Love Center, Buffalo
- Second Baptist Church – CalMum Food Pantry
- St Peter’s Lutheran Church – Medina Emergency Food Pantry
- Warsaw Food Pantry – Snack Pack Program
- Wyoming County Community Action
- Yorkshire Free Methodist Church – Snack Pack 4 Kids Program
As we enter the holiday season, we would like to extend our best wishes to you and your families and thank you for your business. Stay strong, and stay safe.
